This is a no-holds-barred, honest talk about the fear, resistance, and creative block that I’ve struggled with as a podcaster.
I take you behind the scenes of podcasting and share everything about how I’ve been writing and recording my solo episodes, and the various ways fear pops up for me in the creative process as perfectionism, procrastination, comparison, overthinking, self-censorship, or imposter syndrome.
All of these were coming up particularly strongly in making this episode. After many days of writing and editing, I wasn’t making much progress and even wondered if I should quit.
It was when I decided to let go of making myself wrong and and open up to you about this whole thing, that I was finally able to throw away the script, hit record, and just start talking. We overcome fear not by resisting it—but by embracing it.
I talk about:
My process for writing and recording my solo podcast episodes
How fear and self-imposed pressure have been stifling my creativity
Letting go of resistance: feeling the fear and breathing into it
How I grew up suppressing my voice and expression as an introvert
Prayer for freeing up our expression and letting creativity flow
… and more!
