Many of us go on a spiritual path seeking lasting inner peace and freedom from suffering. We meditate, we say affirmations, we go to workshops and retreats, … we do all kinds of things for years and years to try to achieve that “awakened” state. But what if that peace and freedom we long for were actually available to us right here and now? That is what today’s guest, my dear friend and bestselling author Rosalyn Rourke, is here to help us explore and experience.
Rosalyn Rourke, MSW, has worked deeply in the field of psychotherapy for over 30 years, focusing on trauma recovery and spiritual well-being. After the unexpected death of her daughter Melissa, Rosalyn experienced what many would call a Spiritual Awakening. This led her to write the best-selling memoir and non-dual fable, When Wisdom Arrives: From Imagined Unworthiness to Freedom, which explores profound grief, body dysmorphia, mother-daughter struggles, and the release of imagined unworthiness. Recently, her chapter titled “Quantum Belonging: Embracing Life Beyond Limitations” in the book Become Empowered became an Amazon bestseller. Rosalyn now works as a Master Enneagram teacher and Oneness Coach, helping people discover deeper meaning, passion, purpose, and possibility through personality flexibility.
Rosalyn lovingly points out that, when we’re “seeking” peace, we’re operating from a place of lack, always reaching for something that we think is missing—but when we step into presence and simply be with what is without judgment, we can find peace and freedom in that steady place of “okayness” within us. And as we learn to rest in that place and no longer let our thoughts, feelings, or actions define us—everything becomes possible.
We talk about:
The life-changing practice of noticing our looping thoughts and not “touching” them
Rosalyn’s awakening experience after her daughter unexpectedly passed away
Guided experiences of finding home in the okayness
Questioning what society taught us about life and death
When you are fully present and allowing each moment, life becomes a series of effortless movements
… and more!
